Hostel Costa Brava

When we tried to get coffee at the bar in the morning, we were told to go somewhere else because they had nothing. The room was stifling, with no AC, only a fan that just pushed the hot air around. Its decor and furniture felt very dated, straight from the 1960s, and the bathtub had no curtain, so water flooded the floor. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. For the same price, you can find something much better.

The shared kitchen they provide was in an unsanitary state. The entrance didn’t make a good impression either, with the plants dying from lack of water. For €100, the room was poor value: the bed was really uncomfortable, tiles in the bathroom were broken, and the shower curtain was moldy. There was also a lot of hallway noise because the old doors were badly insulated. They should either bring the prices down or put serious work into renovating the facilities.

The location was the only good part. At €110 a night with no breakfast, we arrived to find one of the two beds still unmade. The fan didn’t work, so we had to ask for another, and water was dripping through the bedroom ceiling. The bathwater was a little brown too. I’d avoid this place. 🙁

The hotel is right in the city center, close to the shops, restaurants and sea, and luckily our room had a small balcony. Otherwise it was disappointing: our August 15th weekend stay came with a miserable reception, no food on site and no breakfast. The Wi-Fi barely worked, and the room looked straight out of the 70s. It’s a very minimalist hotel.
