Iberostar Waves Málaga Playa Hotel

The part that left us disappointed was how the included food and drinks worked with our flights. We got there at 11:30pm on the first day and missed a whole day of them. Our flight home wasn't until 11pm, but even though we'd paid extra for late check-out, our wristbands were taken off at lunchtime. After that, we had to pay for drinks. That felt unfair after missing out on the first day. We stayed all-inclusive for a week with my husband, mum and 2-year-old. The hotel is in a lovely, peaceful spot, and the beautiful beach is about a 30 second walk away. The grounds were clean and well maintained, and our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The food was nice, though it got a little repetitive. We liked having branded drinks, but the cocktails weren't as good as at other hotels we've stayed in, with many poured from premixed bottles. Even so, it's a lovely, family-friendly place with plenty going for it, and we'd recommend it.

The pool is lovely, and the beach is right beside the hotel. It's a great place for families and kids, with nice food and evening entertainment and activities. We had a great stay and may well come back.

The huge pool was a real plus for us, especially since the kids spent most of the day there and loved the splash park when it was open. We also enjoyed the food every night of our week, with a good choice each evening, and the drinks and snacks were reasonably priced. They use premium alcohol, which was very good quality. Our rooms were excellent and the staff were friendly and happy to help. I can't fault much about the hotel. My only small gripe is the room safe charge. I haven't come across that at hotels recently, in the last 5-6 years or so, but €3 a day isn't a big deal. The nightly shows were okay. Maybe the location and time of year meant there weren't many options, but the last night, when 3 women sang Motown songs, was easily the best of the seven. We had a very special family holiday here last week. It's a magnificent beachfront building, and the staff and food make it worth a visit. We were not disappointed, and we'd definitely consider staying again and recommend it.

Peak times can get busy, so you might not find a sunbed right by the pool. Still, this was a really reliable, comfortable base it Málaga, with excellent service and a good location. It was close enough to get to the airport easily, and everything ran smoothly without feeling chaotic. The staff were spectacular, and breakfast had enough variety to keep me going all day. The hotel feels modern and well cared for, with a clean, welcoming feel as soon as you arrive. My room was tidy and comfortable, with what I needed for a relaxing holiday. 🇪🇸😌
