Hotel GHT Oasis Tossa & Spa

The pools and gym were nice, and the housekeeping was excellent. Our room was cleaned daily, and the dining area staff kept things very clean too. Still, the rooms felt dated and cramped to us, with a tiny balcony, and I’d say this place suits couples more than families. We stayed for a week. Getting around the hotel could be slow, since there are only two lifts for a busy property. The lobby bar was the biggest disappointment: service felt lazy and the alcoholic drinks were poor quality. Food was okay, though. I’d recommend it to couples who want to walk into town or use the pool and spa. For value, I think there are better options in Tossa de Mar. We looked at Golden Bahia before leaving and were impressed by what it offered.

We really enjoyed this place. The whole hotel felt well organized, and the staff were incredibly friendly. Our room was clean and tidy, and the food was fantastic, with plenty of variety for everyone. Along with the buffet, there was live cooking and themed dinners, including fish and seafood. There’s an outdoor pool and an indoor one, plus a small gym. The beach is about a 15-minute walk away.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and dinners had a good range of options, including pizza, fish, burgers and quesadillas. Breakfast was pretty much the same each day: bread, cold cuts, cheese, some vegetables and fruit, milk soups and pastries. There was also a live station for eggs, bacon, beans and pancakes. The room was cleaned daily and the towels were changed, as you’d expect at this kind of hotel. Our stay had some real problems. There were power cuts, and we couldn’t open the parking gate manually to get out. One entire floor flooded, and the hotel didn’t deal with it very well. The hallway smelled musty afterwards. Parking outside cost €17 a day, and the spaces were very tight. The room itself was average, with no kettle or glasses, which was annoying.

The food was okay with plenty to choose from, especially salads, and the kids’ entertainment staff worked hard at the mini disco. My main complaint was the bar service, particularly at lunch. With four meals, more than an hour passed between the first and last being served. I also didn’t find the older bar staff especially friendly. It was our first family hotel in many years and our first holiday with our two-year-old granddaughter, so being surrounded by children was a change for us. The hotel felt bright and modern, and was immaculately clean. Our room was comfortable, though short on storage. Since we were there for just one week, it wasn’t a big issue. We had a nice holiday.
