Hostal Mediterráneo

The location is really close to the city centre, and they let us leave our suitcases at the hostel both when we arrived and when our flight was delayed on departure. That meant we didn't have to carry them around. We stayed 11 nights and everything worked out perfectly, with daily room service, great service overall, and a really clean room. The staff were so helpful and nice.

The owners, a mother and son, clearly care about the place and were lovely hosts. We had a comfortable bed, a working shower, and a little balcony where we could watch the street. Our room was in the old town of beautiful Tossa, just a few steps from great restaurants and about five minutes from the beach. Breakfast was simple but good, and the price felt very fair. There's free parking not too far away, plus a guarded option for 8 euro, staffed 24/24. My girlfriend and I had a great stay at Hostal Mediterraneo and would consider coming back.

We kept finding stains on the sheets each night, and the owner made us feel deeply unwelcome. She yelled at my partner and me for using the common area to drink water and have a light meal. When we asked what the problem was and how we could resolve it calmly, she kept shouting and said, "not my problem, that's your problem". She never smiled at guests, and her disrespectful attitude made us very uncomfortable. We'd read reviews and expected friendly staff, so this was the opposite. I can't understand why she owns the place. Please don't book here. I'd urge you to cancel and find somewhere else.

The owners' warm welcome and care are what made the stay feel special and left me wanting to return. I will. In my view, this place is much more than a hostal or bed and breakfast, and the value for the price is unbeatable. The rooms were really nice, and the location was perfect. I can recommend it to everyone without hesitation. 😊😊😊
