L'illa Hotel

The rooms are clean and worth the price, with good service and nice cafés and restaurants right nearby. But the noise is terrible. Every morning around 4-5 am, the garbage truck comes for the bottles, and we could hear it even with the balcony door shut. There’s also a restaurant downstairs that stays open until morning. We could close the balcony to block some noise, but then there was no fresh air. We tried the AC, and I got sick the next day. There’s really no way around it. It might be fine for a couple of nights, but I wouldn’t stay longer.

Once summer’s over, this is a very good budget hotel in a lovely seaside town. My room was clean, the bathroom was good, the bed comfortable and the balcony nice. At about forty euros for a double room, it’s hard to go past.

At 9.45 we stopped for coffee on the terrace, which looks out over the sea. There were at least 20 empty tables and nobody else there, but we were unpleasantly told we were too early because they were still serving hotel guests breakfast until 10.00. This wasn’t the first time it’s happened. Why are hotels and restaurants in Pollensa like this? So rude, as if tourists are the lowest of the low.

The staff were friendly, the rooms very clean and the location great. Good value for money.
