Apartamentos Jucar

The room was like a sauna at bedtime. I opened the window and propped the fan there, as the owner had suggested, but even after a good shower there was no way to sleep. The wall had been baking in the sun all day. It might be warm in winter, but in summer it's unbearable, and I'll rule this place out. Earlier, when we were standing outside and called the hostel door, we were told we couldn't come in because it was locked. The owner then came out right away, opened it, and checked us in. We asked about meal times and a few other things. The answers were sarcastic enough to surprise us, so we decided not to have lunch, dinner, or breakfast there.

The apartments are in a magnificent location, surrounded by beautiful scenery, and we felt very comfortable. The rooms were perfectly adequate, and the homemade food came in generous portions. What stood out most was how kind and helpful the people running the apartments were. We'll return for that alone.

Our double room was basic but comfortable, and the location was very good. The host was really friendly. We didn't eat at the restaurant because it seemed too expensive for us. I should say, though, that there are hardly any affordable places to eat in Tragacete.

Awful meal. The €15 set menu only had two dishes to choose from. The breadcrumbs were dry and bland, and the steak came as three pieces with frozen potatoes. Even the drinks were canned. And yes, this was the €15 menu. We saw four customers argue with the waiter over canned beer, then leave without paying.
