B&B HOTEL Madrid Tres Cantos

The quiet, peaceful area was the only real plus, and it was good for working on my laptop without interruptions. I came because several friends had recommended the hotel, so I was surprised it was supposed to have three stars. The bathroom was very dirty and smelled awful. My pillow had stains and lots of long hair on it 🤢. Thank God I found a much better hotel. I hope they improve things.

The room didn’t feel like what I’d expect from a three-star hotel. The ceiling looked like unfinished concrete, and there was a worn wooden panel behind the bed. A staff member said many rooms are set up similarly. Later, housekeeping knocked briefly and opened the door before I could answer, which made me uncomfortable. I arrived around 1 p.m. and had to wait while the receptionist finished a phone call. Check-in was confusing because I’d booked a double room but arrived alone, and nobody explained what was happening while I waited. For around €90 a night, this was the most disappointing hotel I stayed at in Madrid. I hope they improve the rooms and service.

The hygiene was so poor that my friends who arrived with me were also surprised the rooms weren’t being cleaned properly. When I went to bed, I found human body hairs and black stains on the bedspread. I had to speak to my manager and get moved to another hotel. We only lasted two days there. I can’t believe the company paid for me to stay there while I was in Madrid for work.

Some staff came across as passive-aggressive, and the repeated mix-ups made the stay unpleasant. We had inconsistent answers to questions, especially about room cleaning and hotel services, which gave us the impression that staff weren’t coordinated. We knew the hotel was away from the city center and were fine with that, so transport wasn’t an issue. But this was our first trip to Madrid, and the front desk and communication problems made the experience disappointing. Better management and clearer communication would help.
