We came for a quiet getaway and felt very comfortable in this small apartment complex by the beach. Giniginamar has about 200 inhabitants and is far from the main tourist areas, so it suits independent travelers looking for peace. The village is very quiet, and its black sand and pebble beach is just a short walk away. Our balcony looked over the first row of houses toward the sea and mountains. Our one-bedroom apartment felt like a small flat, with spacious, tastefully furnished rooms, a washing machine in the bathroom, and a well-equipped kitchen for cooking. Wi-Fi worked perfectly straight away. There was also a flat-screen TV with German channels, mainly ZDF. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. Fabiola speaks excellent German and had useful suggestions for hikes and island excursions. She was easy to reach on WhatsApp with any questions. The restaurant by the sea is beautifully situated and can get busy, so booking ahead is a good idea. It closes on Mondays and Tuesdays. You need a rental car, since there are no shops in the village. The bigger supermarkets are Spar in Tarajalejo, about 11 km away, and Hyperdino in Gran Tarajal, about 13 km away. Both towns have restaurants too, though Tarajalejo is quieter.
