Apartamentos “Quotidianum”

Right in the town center, this modern, welcoming apartment still has the style and charm of Úbeda. It’s very comfortable. The old town’s streets are extremely narrow and there’s no parking, so it’s best to leave your car on the outskirts.

We booked apartment 1 through Booking.com. It’s a lovely loft, decorated with taste and lots of light, and it was just right for a couple. The historic center is handy for visiting the monuments, and the amenities were good, including a toaster, coffee maker, and Wi-Fi. Parking was a nightmare with our two cars. The streets are narrow, and there’s hardly any free parking. We had to use a paid lot for a few hours, around €13 per day, and then search farther away for a spot. We’d asked the person managing the booking where to park nearby, but got no reply. It would have been a nice touch if the woman who made the booking had sent directions.

The location is good, but the service wasn’t. The manager took payment when we arrived and said she’d email the invoice. Instead, we got only a photo of a receipt through WhatsApp, and it listed the apartment rental but not the €26 we’d paid for two days of parking. The bathroom in the “La Cantina” apartment also left a lot to be desired. You step from the shower straight into an open hallway where you can see all the rooms, so there’s no privacy and you have to get dressed in full view of anyone else staying there. There were cobwebs all over the upper areas, and nobody came to clean during our two-day rental.

The duplex was beautiful, nicely decorated, clean, and well equipped, with a full kitchen and TV. My only concern was the upstairs railing: there was just a rope in the middle, which felt unsafe. My children slept upstairs in the single beds. They’re older, so it wasn’t an issue for us, but I’d have worried if they were younger. Otherwise, it’s a charming place in a great location.
