We were upgraded to the apartment with an upper terrace, which was a lovely spot to sit during our few days there. The only thing that bothered us was the bedroom's toilet and shower area, which was separated by a curtain instead of a door and didn't offer much privacy. Otherwise, we had a lovely three-night stay in the Freedom of the Wind apartment. The restored Finca is beautifully furnished, with countryside and mountain views all around. The garden and pool looked even better than the photos, and we managed to swim a couple of times in February. Katarina was welcoming and suggested two excellent walks from the village. Uga has a shop, a couple of restaurants, and a small local produce market at weekends, so we went two days without needing the car. We'd definitely consider coming back.

The local restaurant was great, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was pleasing and well equipped, with a balcony, in a delightful setting. The pool is large for a place this size, though it was too windy for us to use during our stay. We'd love to come back.

Katharina was so friendly and gave us great tips for exploring the island. The hotel is wonderfully quiet, with stunning views of Timanfaya. I loved it more than any other hotel I've stayed in, and think it's the best place to stay on the island. Be sure to visit the Uga market next to the hotel, and try Lala's jams and Fefo's mojo.

Katrina was incredibly helpful, even after we'd checked out. I left my watch behind, and she went out of her way to help me get it back. We had a lovely chat too, and she shared lots of information about the island. Martina and I really appreciated the thoughtful details in the beautiful, well-equipped rooms, and the resort's amazing pool. It's quiet and outside the tourist area, in a really cool village, with lots of activities and sightseeing tours about a 15-minute drive away. A must-stay when visiting Lanzarote.
