We sat for 45 minutes with our drinks, and no one came back to ask what we wanted to eat. We finally asked for the bill so we could leave, and the waiter said, “You should have told us you were not going to eat and we would have sat you at a table without a tablecloth.” The service was the worst I’ve ever had at a restaurant. It wasn’t busy, either. The staff seemed unwilling to work and were really unfriendly. When we first arrived, we greeted the waiter and asked whether there was anything vegetarian on the menu. He didn’t say hello or smile, just told us some of the appetizers were vegetarian, then left us standing there to find a table ourselves. The next waiter seemed extremely annoyed and never smiled. She asked if we wanted drinks first, and after we said yes, we had to ask her for a menu because she hadn’t brought one. That seemed to annoy her even more.

We only stopped to look for some bocadillos, but the food turned out to be surprisingly good, so we ended up ordering the menu del dia.

The €12 menu of the day was delicious, good value, and served quickly.
