Casas Rurales El Terrero

We spent the past weekend here as a family, 11 of us in two houses. Both were clean and very well looked after, with everything we needed. The location is perfect and the area beautiful. Mar is lovely. Highly recommend.

The bedrooms are on the small side, but the living areas are comfortable, and the bathrooms are complete and comfortable too. The biggest house is lovely, with its porch and enclosed patio. There are three well-located houses, each with a garden and barbecue. Two share an entrance, while the largest sits right across from the garden. The barbecue areas and the outdoor tables and chairs are very well set up. The owner is friendly and welcomes dogs, which is much appreciated.

The only drawback was that the downstairs rooms felt quite damp, though they do have a device to help with it. The house itself was lovely, fully equipped, and ready to move into, and the owner was very friendly. We stayed about three days and only wish we could have stayed longer. The location worked perfectly for getting to all the places we wanted without long drives, and San Vicente de la Barquera is just 10 minutes away.

We’ve spent a few days with the family in these houses for the second time, and even the bad weather over the long weekend couldn’t spoil it. The house, its surroundings, and the wider area made the stay really pleasant. Marimar looked after us closely when we had to head back during a storm. She offered us an extra night at no cost and kept us updated about our safe return. Thanks, Marimar, until next time! The welcome cakes were delicious.
