Sendero del Agua

When the blueberries are in season, it’s a lovely spot to pick your own. There’s also a forest walk where you can enjoy the Mitología Cantabra!

The fireplace was a real treat, and they supplied the wood and everything else we needed. The houses are cared for and welcoming, and the quiet setting feels especially nice with just three houses and no crowds. The area itself is beautiful and peaceful, just right for switching off for a few days. The service was lovely from the start. There’s a very affectionate dog and cat, and Lea was wonderful company on walks with us. We’d only planned to stay a couple of nights, but felt so at ease that we stretched it to five days. We left thinking we’d found somewhere to come back to. If we hadn’t already planned to visit other areas, we might have stayed a couple more days.

The owners, Juan and María Jesús, are so warm and attentive, and it’s obvious they care a lot about the place. They welcomed us with a delicious homemade cheesecake baked by them and waiting in the apartment. There’s a lovely path on the property that goes down to a river, a really magical walk. The house is beautiful, the surroundings are stunning, and everything was spotless and meticulously looked after from the moment we arrived. We’ll be back.

Juan and Chus made sure we had everything we needed, and the homemade breakfasts were fantastic. We had a fabulous stay. The accommodation was comfortable and clean, with a large, thoughtfully chosen library that you wouldn’t expect in a country house room. The wonderful surroundings made it easy to spend a few unique, relaxing days. We’ll return.
