Balneario Valle del Jerte

The grounds are beautiful, and the front desk staff were very nice. Our room looked lovely at first and had a generously sized terrace, but one of the four pillowcases was dirty. The TV was about the size of a 22" computer monitor, which stood out, even though we weren't there to watch much TV. There was hardly any pressure in either the shower or the toilet, and the room was hot with no air-conditioning. Dinner was buffet only. The food was good, but not excellent, and the main dish came warm rather than hot. The mineral baths were lukewarm, and the jacuzzi only held two people and was always full, so we never got to use it. A group of teenage girls were squealing and running around, which made relaxing impossible. We didn't even want to stay for our full time slot. We told the front desk about our complaints, so maybe things have improved, but we won't be coming back.

The hotel made a beautiful first impression and looked amazing, but that changed once we reached the room and had dinner. The bathroom in our bedroom was really dirty, with hair all over the floor and in the bathtub, and mess everywhere. The service needs work, and I doubt it deserves four stars. I wouldn't recommend staying unless you have no other choice.

The rooms are pretty standard, nothing special. The spa costs extra, and for the price it's very small with a limited time slot, so it felt overpriced. There was no air-conditioning, while the heating was controlled automatically. The front desk guy said that was how it worked in the part of the hotel facing the mountain because it was cooler. I don't believe that rubbish. I eventually asked him to get me a fan, and he just about managed it, though he was bumbling.

The service was horrible, and the waiter couldn't sort out even simple problems. For me, the price doesn't make sense given that level of service.
