The hiking paths from Valdelarco were varied, and many worked well for young children. Having fast Wi-Fi was much appreciated, since TV reception is limited and only Vodafone has coverage. We’ve stayed here twice now, my wife, daughters, and I. The house is right in the village, and access is easy if you park by the lower square. The renovation of the building is remarkable. There’s a front outdoor area with lovely village views, great for reading, music, or playing with the kids. Inside, the open layout across two levels gives you plenty of room. It faces north, with a good amount of natural light, and stays nice and cool in summer. In winter, the fireplace warms the whole room, which is a treat. Like most houses, it could use a few more kitchen items, but that’s easy to work around with El Gordo just a minute away in the square.

We had a reservation, but when we called the owner to ask about check-in and check-out times, he was rude and dismissive. If that’s how he treats people on the phone, I can only imagine what he’d be like if something went wrong at the house. I absolutely wouldn’t recommend it. For anyone thinking of booking, check-in is at 4:00 PM and check-out is between 9:00 and 11:00 AM. Pretty laughable when you’re renting a rural house for the weekend.

The village is really peaceful, and the house has everything you need for a lovely weekend.

Everything was properly equipped, and the house lived up to what we expected. A fantastic spot for a weekend away, highly recommend it in summer or winter.
