Hotel Mas de la Costa

There are some wonderful, challenging walks nearby, including routes that start right at the hotel. Christian helped us choose a route and translated the directions from Spanish into English. The owners, Christian and Francoise, have furnished the place with care and imagination, and their presence is reassuring. The location is stunning and the property is beautifully presented. Meals have a French influence while using local produce, with a limited but excellent daily changing table d'hôte menu. Hope we get back one day!

We couldn't resist the honesty bar, with its wide selection of local and international wines and spirits. The hotel is peaceful, with beautiful views over the Spanish countryside and very comfortable rooms. The owners add a personal touch to the high level of service, and the staff are friendly, professional, and helpful. The food was good as well. We'd love to return.

We booked four nights and ended up staying six. The hotel is beautifully designed by the owners, with excellent food and service from everyone. The French chef adds a subtle, creative touch. The setting is stunning, with a lovely pool and plenty of spots to sit, read, or relax. You can walk to Valderrobres or head into the countryside. Thanks to the whole team, especially Fernando, who arranged a pickup when the exceptionally strong winds made the final 40 minutes on the motorcycle too dangerous. Christian, hope you enjoy Anti-fragile!

The food matched the rest of the experience, with generous breakfasts featuring local produce, fresh bread, and pastries, plus beautifully prepared dinners in the restaurant. We relaxed in the lounge, TV room, or library, enjoying the quiet of the hotel and countryside. The staff were wonderful and attentive, and the thoughtful details made the place feel luxurious. The original buildings have been lovingly renovated, with new areas added in keeping with them. Outside, the gardens are carefully tended, surrounded by greenery, almond groves, farmland, and mountain views. We were impressed as soon as we arrived. Well done, Christian and team. We'll be back.
