Casa Rural Virgen De La Cabeza

We were 13 friends looking for a quiet weekend, and had a wonderful time. The three houses were fully equipped, and the porch and barbecue area were spectacular. The accommodation is incredible and completely secluded, which was a real bonus. We couldn't use the large pool because of the time of year, but it has beautiful views. There are several hiking trails in the superb surrounding area. The path to the house was a little rough after the recent rains, but manageable with some patience.

We had a lovely family stay, and it was well worth it. The house has central heating and fireplaces, so we stayed warm. The covered barbecue and oven were fantastic, and there was a washer and dryer too. Valencia de Alcántara has everything we needed for groceries, but keep the shop opening hours in mind. The staff did their best to help, and Francisco was very friendly. I didn't give it five stars because there weren't many kitchen towels, there was only one tablecloth, and just one of the three coffee makers worked. Still, there were plenty of glasses, cutlery, and pots and pans, so I'm sure they can sort out those few things quickly.

There was everything we could need in the house, with no detail overlooked. We spent time by the pool on the sun loungers, and went hiking through a spectacular natural setting. The starry sky at night was beautiful too. I'd happily do it all again.

Twelve friends, one weekend, and a great time. The place is spectacular.
