Arena Zone Hotel

I enjoyed spending a week here. Just be aware that the cafe is often crowded with construction workers from the Roig Arena site next door, sometimes 30 or more waiting to be served. The staff do their best, but service can be slow, and finding a seat for breakfast or lunch isn’t always possible.

The location worked really well for us, near the shopping mall and Ciutat de les Arts, with a bus stop right outside. Downstairs, the café serves a great breakfast, and most of the staff there are friendly, though the language barrier can cause some confusion since most don’t speak English. Our room was clean, with fresh towels and daily cleaning. Reception staff were helpful when we needed anything and spoke English. A good hotel for the price.

The front desk team were courteous and helpful, and the location made it easy to explore the city. Our room was simple but worked well. The shower screen lets water splash onto the bathroom floor, though, and one floor towel for the whole stay wasn’t enough. It got soaked quickly and was unpleasant to walk on.

The room we were given didn’t match the photos at all. There was no palm view, just a concrete terrace where people walked by, and the listing showed no pictures of that. We didn’t want to stay and asked for a full refund. The manager said she would refund only 25% unless they found new customers for the room. We paid for two nights and are still waiting for our money back. I regret choosing Arena Zone. It spoiled my impression of Valencia, and I’ll never come back or recommend staying here. They later claimed we hadn’t shown up, but they had scanned our passports, given us a broken key card, and told us the hotel was great and safe and to contact booking if we didn’t like something. I had to replace the card, and they said losing it would cost €10. We also had to sign a paper about it. The manager is now saying they offered an alternative, but that isn’t what happened. We first asked to change rooms, and the male receptionist said they were fully booked. His English wasn’t very good, and that was all he could help with. After that, we spoke to the manager to ask for a refund. She was rude and mean. I wish she’d learn how to communicate with customers instead of lying and taking tourists’ money.
