Hotel Ciudad de Valladolid

The rooms were quiet and lovely, and the staff were warm, friendly, and kind. The location is very good. Everything we needed for a great stay in Valladolid.

The room was clean and lovely, and the people at reception were so nice. I ordered room service: good food, nicely presented, and a good price. I loved the place, and thought the price was fair for such a nice hotel. Tips aren't requested, but it's nice to leave one. I've worked in the restaurant business for 30 years, and tipping may mean little to you, but it means a lot to the workers.

Breakfast was quite good, but the room and service had several problems. We paid for three people and got a very small room, with a small extra bed meant for a child rather than adolescents. Being close to reception made it noisy. The door cards kept getting demagnetized, so we had to ask reception to reset them, and the hair dryer was broken.

I don't usually review hotels on Google, but this experience needs to be shared. As an event manager with many years of experience, I've never had such an unfriendly, complicated encounter with a hotel. If you're considering it because it's near the exhibition center, think carefully about whether you have the patience for the unprofessional reception and reservations staff. I contacted them directly instead of booking through a portal. After a lot of back and forth, reservations somehow arranged three rooms, then sent me to reception to pay in advance since I wasn't traveling with my colleagues. Reception didn't answer the phone or reply to my email for days. When I finally got through, they transferred me back to reservations without listening. Reservations then ignored my calls. I tried reception again for help, and they hung up and blocked my number so I couldn't reach them, apparently because dealing with it was too annoying for them. I'm honestly shocked.
