Baja del Secreto

The staff were so flexible and friendly, and gave us great tips, including walks in the national park. We were sorry to leave. Our apartment was spacious and a decent standard, with a huge balcony and lovely mountain views. We also loved the saltwater pool and the beach right on our doorstep. There was a supermarket and a few shops in the same building.

We'd happily come back. The apartment was very clean and quiet, with a good sized balcony and decent facilities. The pool was clean and a good size, and the supermarket next door was reasonably priced. There were excellent restaurants an easy walk away. The spot is right by the beach with an amazing sea view. I'd seen earlier reviews mentioning noise, but we didn't hear any in the evenings.

We spent a week here in April 2023 and had a lovely stay. After 11 pm, the main sound was the Atlantic waves. We had no problem with noise from beach parties in the evening, or from the local shop and cafe opening at 8 in the morning. From our first floor apartment, room 205, we could watch the goings-on along the little street, Baja del Secreto. The apartment was over 60 square metres for the two of us, with a well-equipped kitchen and a big balcony facing the mountain. It also had nice shade for a siesta after noon. We came to La Gomera for a birthday visit with a friend who lives there, and they showed us all around the island. Most tourists in Valle Gran Rey are German, and German is the island's second language. Supermarket and restaurant prices are on the high side, though still lower than, for example, Denmark. Baja del Secreto is a friendly, pleasant place to stay, and I recommend it.

The view of Teguerguenche is magnificent and makes this a memorable place. The rooms are nice, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Charco del Conde, a good restaurant, is right next door, while “baby beach,” a tidewater pool, is across the street. The apartment kitchen and utensils were a bit disappointing.
