We only managed to get to the beach because we were both sick during our two nights here, but Alfredo gave us tips for hikes and places to explore. The hostel has two kitchens for preparing your own food, an organic garden, a very fair price, and the most comfortable bed and sheets we had on the island. Alfredo was warm, welcoming, and always supportive. We left early to catch the bus and missed saying goodbye, which made us sad. Thanks, Alfredo, for being such a lovely host. We hope we’ll see you again, and wish you all the best. Antonie & Benedict 🥰🤎

I’ve stayed in quite a few hostels while backpacking, and Casa Amaya is one of my favorites. The private rooms and shared kitchen and bathrooms are spotless and so cosy. Its location is ideal, right on the main square above the supermarket and only a few meters from the bus stop. Alfredo brings a welcoming spirit that makes the place feel like home. I had a brilliant time and would recommend it to anyone who cares about people and the nature around them.
Vallehermoso is a quiet, beautiful place for unwinding, hiking, or relaxing at the beach, and Casa Amaya is a magical spot to stay. Alfredo is wonderful, speaks German and English fluently, and helps with whatever you need. The rooms are comfortable, with a shared kitchen and balcony, and having Spar in the same building just below is really convenient. There’s a wild garden with lettuce, kalanchoe, lemongrass, beetroot, and other things you can pick for a drink or salad. It also has a little yoga hut. I hope I can visit again soon.
The village is charming and quiet, and staying here was a wonderful experience. Alfredo was welcoming, gave me local tips, and was there whenever I needed him. He showed me around his organic garden and encouraged me to pick herbs for tea, which I did often. He also lent me a guitar and yoga mat for playing, relaxing, and doing yoga in the evenings. The rooms are neat and clean, with fresh linens and new furniture. There’s a small kitchen with a kettle, toaster, fridge, and other small appliances, but no stove.
The location beside the main square was perfect, with local life going on nearby. Online it looked fully booked, but when I called there was still a spot :) One of the nicest places I’ve stayed, and I had a superb night and morning. Highly recommend it in Vallehermoso.
