Sunset in the Atlantic Apartamentos Playa de Alojera

The sea view when you wake up is amazing, and I’d highly recommend this secluded beach. It isn’t a typical sandy beach, so be careful. The water shifts with the tides, and there’s a small pool for paddling with children. Apartments are available to rent right on the beach. Mornings are fairly quiet, though it gets busier toward late afternoon.

So beautiful. We got to swim a lot and snorkel, and saw loads of colorful fish.

It’s a magnificent beach covered in black pebbles. The sea can get rough when the waves are strong, so take care. At the restaurant overlooking the water, try the octopus salad with onion and celery. It’s a real treat.

I’ve traveled my whole life and have never had an experience like this. We booked through Booking.com, but when we arrived, the assigned house was nothing like the listing, which clearly promised Wi-Fi and everything needed for a great holiday. There was no Wi-Fi or microwave. The place was dirty and in poor condition, with a mattress and belongings beside the washing machine, as if someone were staying there. I could hardly believe it. We tried calling several times and got no answer. Booking.com had to step in, and when they couldn’t reach the owner either, they finally refunded us so we could find somewhere else. I’ve attached photos of the washing machine area and the deplorable state of the facilities. Friendly advice: get out of there fast!
