Hotel Paqui

At 60 euros a night, it felt expensive for a one-star hotel, though we needed somewhere to stay. The room was clean and ready, and the service was nothing beyond basic. What bothered me most was the kitchen smell around every room entrance.

I haven't stayed at the hotel, only eaten at the restaurant. The food was good and the prices seemed normal, but the staff were so unfriendly. It felt like every request annoyed them, whether asking for ketchup, another drink, or what was in a salad. Anything beyond ordering the set menu seemed to be a hassle, and they might even tell you so. There was a guy at the bar who'd be better off looking after goats than dealing with people. Honestly, I rarely feel as uncomfortable as I did there.

We got a very affordable room rate. The couple running the place were really pleasant, too, and it has a friendly feel. The food is excellent, a real treat.

The homemade desserts are good, and I've been here a couple of times. There's a decent choice of starters and main courses, and the food is good value. The vegetable rice tasted great, though it was a bit too cooked for me. Meat and fish were good; I'd change the frozen potatoes that came on the side. It's a cozy restaurant, and I'd recommend the menu.
