Parador de Cruz de Tejeda

We were here for a wedding in April, and the reception team were amazing. They handled all the last-minute problems, stayed super friendly, and made sure everyone was happy. The breakfast team were excellent too.

Watching the sunset from the spa jacuzzi was one of the best parts of our trip. The spot itself is stunning, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the spa is fabulous. Breakfast was a fantastic buffet, though it didn't open until 7:45, sometimes a little later when staff were running behind. We couldn't get coffee before then, which was a minor frustration.

The view is pretty much the only thing this hotel has going for it. Our stay was difficult from the start: reception didn't even look at us when we arrived, with no welcome or apparent interest. There were bugs outside our room and the showers were dirty. At the bar, the barman threw a fit when we said we didn't want beer, which felt completely unprofessional. Breakfast was disappointing too, mostly frozen pastries and cold fried cheese, especially poor for a hotel at this price. The service staff were the one bright spot. They were kind and tried to help. I wouldn't stay here again.

Dinner was bland, poorly prepared, and low quality, and the restaurant staff's hostile manner made it even more frustrating. Breakfast was no better: even though it was included, no one bothered to serve coffee or the hot items that had been promised. There was no initiative or care in the service. The rooms also felt neglected, with dust, worn furniture, outdated decor, and poor cleaning. Staff at both the front desk and restaurant were incredibly rude and aggressive, seeming annoyed that guests were there at all. For a hotel claiming a certain standard, this was completely unacceptable. From beginning to end, staying at Paradores Cruz de Tejeda was a huge disappointment. It feels badly managed and indifferent to guest satisfaction. I'd strongly recommend staying somewhere else unless you enjoy being treated badly while paying for it.
