Rain kept us indoors for a couple of days, but there was plenty to do in this roomy house, especially for the kids: a pool table, foosball and games. Cooking was easy with the barbecue in the kitchen. We were 12, pet included, and found the place clean and fully equipped. The village is small and has a pretty church, and there are interesting towns very close by. Juan was friendly, attentive, and flexible about check-in and check-out. One small gripe: there are glasses for everyone, but they feel more like they’re for display. Still, we had a lovely weekend. Thanks for everything, Juan!

The photos give a pretty misleading impression. The place feels neglected, with torn curtains, poor cleaning, and lots of little details that need attention. The kitchenware is disappointing too: even the glasses are all different sizes. Only the foosball area and sauna seem to have been renovated. The other bathrooms still have old, neglected furniture.

The kids had a great time, and we’d happily come back to try the pool in summer. We were four families, eight adults and five children, and this was one of the best rural houses we’ve stayed in. It’s stocked for a good weekend, with foosball, a sauna, several fireplaces, bicycles, and a paella pan, among other things. It’s also a handy base for Berlanga de Duero Castle and San Baudelio, less than 15 minutes away.

We left the house following the strict rules posted there, yet they tried to charge us an extra 80 euros over a glass left on the table, a balloon left on the floor, probably my son’s, and a bathroom bin that hadn’t been emptied. The host was rude and arrogant throughout our stay. I hope nobody else has to deal with this. We were there for a weekend with family, and the house was filthy. We had to wash all the cutlery and everything else before we could eat, and we were cold the whole time. The furniture is very old, and I wouldn’t consider it safe for young children or elderly people. There’s nothing nearby for 30 minutes, not even basic necessities. I’m writing to warn others about this unpleasant experience and the host’s management. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL.

The outdoor area looked lovely, but rain meant we couldn’t use it, which was a shame. On the plus side, there was firewood and plenty of barbecue gear, guests can use the bicycles, check-in and check-out were self-service and very flexible, and the owner was friendly when we contacted him. The indoor shared space is tiny, tucked under the stairs, and must feel cramped with all 14 people it says the house can hold. It might work well for a smaller group. The sleeping arrangements are confusing too: the advertised room with two double beds is really an open loft with little privacy and awkward access, with two mattresses on the floor. The sauna area isn’t there, just a sofa bed and a bed in the middle of the foosball room. The kitchen is quite small. There are four bedrooms with two beds each, an extra bed that I’m not sure fits in the rooms, and two sofa beds in the billiards area. The village is very small, with nothing nearby, so plan ahead or drive 15 minutes to Almazán for anything you need. That part didn’t bother me personally. The bigger issue is the condition: the house and furniture are very old and barely maintained, and the towels felt like scouring pads. For €560, it’s far from what they advertise, more like a typical village house at your grandmother’s. It was also quite dirty. We had to wash all the dishes when we arrived because they were filthy, and the house generally didn’t seem clean.
