Candace & David were kind, generous hosts and always available if we needed help. Their place is full of thoughtful touches, including welcome goodies in the fridge, plenty of storage and plugs, and a lovely little private patio outside the kitchen where we had coffee and breakfast, or wine in the evening. We were careful with water because of the drought in Spain, so didn't use the dishwasher or washing machine, though both were there. The house was spotless throughout. The shower had hot water straight away, and the bathroom even had a towel heater. We stayed in February and were cosy and warm on the comfortable sofa. The bedroom was lovely too, with patio doors onto a balcony and a huge, very comfortable bed with plenty of cushions. The kitchen was divine, and the lounge and dining room felt airy and sunny, with two doors opening to a balcony. The quiet street meant we weren't disturbed by traffic or people outside. Velez is a jewel for historic events. It's easier to get around on foot since parking is difficult. The Velez Museum is five minutes away, The Cervantes Museum is nearby, the shops are a ten-minute walk, and a big shopping mall is about ten minutes' drive down the road. We loved our stay and will be back.
