The rooms were a good size and impressively clean, and the front desk team were lovely and helped with things like snow conditions and parking. The location’s good too. Still, I came away badly sleep deprived after four nights, and I wouldn’t return. Noise was the main problem. The walls are so thin we could hear ordinary snoring and conversations from next door. Our room faced the back, which was pretty, but it looked toward a nightclub. It got unbearably hot even with the heaters off, so we had to sleep with the balcony door open. That meant being woken several times each night by people outside talking and shouting. Ask for a room facing the river if you stay. Breakfast was genuinely terrible, with bread worse than what you get on a Ryanair flight. The restaurant staff were quite rude, and their glasses clinked loudly enough that we could hear them from our floor, two floors above.

If you’re doing the UTMB race, the location works really well: it’s close to both the finish and kit pickup. The staff were helpful, too. Some rooms get no direct sunlight, which can feel pretty sad. Check whether breakfast is included, since it’s good value and useful if you’ve got an early start.

The hotel is just across the road from the center of this beautiful town, and it was very good value. We had a lovely dinner with half board and enjoyed breakfast too. The lobby is nicely done, and everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. The Wi-Fi was painfully slow during our visit, though that may have been temporary. We’d definitely like to come back :)

We’d come back for sure. The dinner was tasty, healthy, and made up of local dishes. The rooms are fairly big, it’s really quiet, and the place is especially good for cyclists.
