The tired common areas were the first thing I noticed: worn carpets and furniture, shabby lobby sofas, and decor that looks as if it hasn’t been updated in years. The facilities felt dated too. The pool has no changing rooms, parking is scarce and awkward for larger vehicles, and the children’s playroom had broken toys and almost nothing usable. There was also an unpleasant smell in the hallways that lingered, especially on days when fish was served for dinner. Reception made a poor impression from the start. The staff weren’t welcoming or very helpful, and gave us little information about the hotel amenities. For a place advertised as four stars, checking in felt more like arriving at a hostel. I booked because of the four-star rating and promising description, but the stay didn’t meet expectations. It may have been charming in its prime, but now it feels more like a two-star place that needs serious investment and better service. I wouldn’t recommend it unless the price came down significantly, and even then I’d keep expectations modest.

I strongly advise solo women and anyone traveling with children to avoid this place. We had a child with us, and at 22:00h the receptionist opened our room to a guest who wasn’t registered there. Despite the hotel's insistence that everything is registered and regulated, there’s no way to secure the door from inside: no extra lock, hook, or padlock. The TV was broken, and the Wi-Fi password they gave us didn’t work. It was hard even to get the password. The walls were so thin we could hear every word the neighbors said, along with their sink tapping while they brushed their teeth and their TV. This is not a four-star hotel in 2025, maybe it was 50 years ago. We’d just taken a week-long road trip, and this was easily the worst place we stayed.

The reception, restaurant, and bar areas are very good, and the staff made us feel welcome. The decor in the accommodation areas, both inside and out, needs tidying up and updating.

The doors are extremely thin, so a lot of corridor noise comes straight into the room. That was my biggest complaint. Otherwise the room was decent, with nothing special but everything we needed. The bathroom was nice, and the shower always had hot water and good pressure. We stayed four nights with breakfast and dinner. Breakfast never changed, while dinner varied a little from night to night and was anywhere from okay to quite good. The hotel is large and priced economically. The staff were really friendly throughout, from reception to the people serving every meal. They deserve plenty of credit.
