The air in Room 603B was awful. It smelled strongly of mold, there was almost no circulation, no AC, and barely any windows opened. I had a headache within an hour. Later I found another review from a month earlier describing the same room and the same problems, so management clearly knows and doesn’t care. This felt unhealthy, not just uncomfortable. Avoid the place at all costs. We couldn’t even get into the hotel to check in until someone in the lobby let us inside, since it’s only staffed virtually. Check-in happened at a kiosk with a remote attendant, which was fine, but she didn’t tell us that only Elevator B reaches the 6th floor. We carried our luggage up the stairs to the wrong elevator, then had to drag it back down and up again. Not a welcoming start after a long travel day.

We paid €88 for a room that felt like a rip-off, and I’m glad we booked just one night. I won’t return and can’t recommend the hotel. The only real plus is the location, close to the train and bus station and within walking distance of the city. The room, 603B on the top floor, looked much nicer in the Agoda pictures and was quite outdated. Its view was just a dark sort of back yard. The second window was milky white and wouldn’t open, so there was no fresh air or airflow. The whole room, bathroom included, stank of a strange sweet smell mixed with sewage. Other reviews showed the smell had been there for a while, but nobody had dealt with it. There’s no AC, just an old, squeaky, loud fan, and we had to leave the door open for a while to air things out. The beds were torture, with every metal spring easy to feel, and the pillow seemed stuffed with dry grass. When we told the receptionist about the smell in the morning, he completely ignored us and picked up the phone instead of replying. I know he couldn’t fix it immediately, but he could at least have said he was sorry and would look into it. Please don’t rent a room like this out for money. It’s outrageous.

It’s a good budget choice in a great location. The rooms may get a little noisy, but the windows are quite thick. The staff member was nice to me when the legs on my bed broke, though that obviously wasn’t ideal.

We were satisfied with the hotel. The rooms were fairly clean, it’s close to the center and right by the train station, which is handy when you’re travelling, and the prices are low compared with similar hotels. The staff gave us a friendly welcome. Honestly, I don’t understand the low rating. Maybe competitors are behind it.
