Gran Hotel Nagari Boutique & Spa

The rest of the hotel's staff and service were very good, but a few things spoiled the stay. Drinks took ages to arrive, and the young man serving in the bar had a poor attitude and showed no respect for customers. For a five-star hotel, that was disappointing. I've also never seen a hotel charge €25 per person for each hour in a tiny swimming pool.

The room lights couldn't be switched off without calling reception to have someone do it. That's poor service for a hotel calling itself five-star, and the staff were generally unhelpful. The pool access was the biggest problem. There were several pool photos on the website, including children's swimming hours, which was the main reason I chose this hotel. At check-in, nobody mentioned restrictions, and the only offer was to book a spa service, which I already had. Later, we were told that using the pool would cost €25 per person per hour, even though we'd be staying all week. The front desk said we'd booked a room-only rate. To me, that normally means breakfast isn't included, not that hotel amenities are off limits. I've never stayed somewhere that showed a pool in so many photos but charged separately to use it. The website didn't make this clear. The only mention I found was at checkout, where there was an option for a package with one hour of spa access per adult. A spa isn't the same thing as a pool. We'd booked five treatments in total, but when we checked in for them, we were told that spa access wasn't part of the treatment. We weren't even allowed to sit by the pool for a coffee beforehand. After asking a couple of times to speak to the manager, she came over but wasn't friendly. She kept interrupting and arguing instead of hearing me out. Eventually she said we could use the pool for 30 minutes before the treatment, but kept insisting it wasn't included. She could have just offered that politely and left us happy, rather than frustrated and stressed.

This is my usual choice when I stay in Vigo. The rooms are comfortable and the service is friendly. My one gripe is that the website gives the impression there's a spa and pool in the building, but there isn't.

The staff were so warm, friendly and attentive, and there's a nice spa too. It's right in the centre, with lovely restaurants nearby and a very nice park just outside. I'd definitely stay here again.
