B&B Hotel Barcelona Viladecans

After five nights, I left feeling this hotel fell well short of what I expected. The staff were helpful and professional, which was a bright spot, and the location is handy for the shopping mall, nearby Mecadorna hypermarket, and train station. It is a bit far from the center, though. My room was much too small, not very clean, and had thin bedding. The air conditioning was on, but the room stayed cold because it didn’t heat properly. There were no slippers or complimentary water, and a 1L bottle cost €2.50. Breakfast had very little choice. I’m unlikely to return, and hope management takes these issues into account.

We found the hotel clean and spacious, with good value, breakfast, and helpful front desk staff. But belongings were stolen from our things in the dining area, and another guest had belongings taken from reception. The on-site supervisor helped get footage and information for the police, though it was upsetting to have this happen somewhere that should have felt safe. People who aren’t guests come in and out of the lobby and dining area, so keep your belongings with you and don’t leave them unattended, even briefly.

Being close to the airport and next to a large shopping mall were the only real positives for me. The rooms were very dirty, with mold along the bottom of the door. The shower would suddenly turn burning hot or very cold every few minutes, without anyone touching it, and water escaped under the door and reached the living room if I took too long. At breakfast, I found food bits and stains on utensils that hadn’t been cleaned properly. I wouldn’t come back.

We spent two nights here with our children, who are 12 and 14. It was quiet and pleasant, and getting to either the airport or Barcelona city center was easy. There were enough nearby places to eat and shop for clothes. Fine for a short stay, though I wouldn’t choose it for a longer one.
