Breakfast was lovely, especially with the dining room views at sunrise. I only wish it hadn’t been too cold to swim in the pool in December. Ziggys retreat B&B surpassed my expectations: my room was comfortable and peaceful, and the bathroom was very clean. It even had central heating, which is unusual in Spanish accommodation. The staff were welcoming and kind, and put a lot of effort into making the stay enjoyable. The location is right by the central square in this charming historic village, close to a grocery store, restaurants, and cafes. I’d definitely come back.

Vilaflor itself is beautiful. Stop at the cafe a few doors from the hotel and chat with the lovely older Spanish woman selling all kinds of great almond treats. I was cycling through and found the hotel rooms really comfortable. I’d have given it five stars, but the owner was a bit rude when I called after seeing the sign asking early arrivals to phone. She spoke to me in a very clever manner about check-in time, which I thought was silly, especially since it was around 4 pm.

We spent two nights at the mountain retreat Ziggys, right in the center of Vilaflor and conveniently close to the hiking trails. My partner and I had an incredible weekend. The receptionist gave us a warm welcome and showed us around. There’s a beautiful garden and pool area that feels calm and relaxing. Our charming room had comfortable beds, heating, and a private bathroom. Breakfast was a delicious continental spread with freshly baked bread, eggs, jam, and everything we needed for a day of hiking. We wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, pleasant stay. The serene setting, comfortable room, and tasty breakfast made it memorable.

My mum and I had a great stay at Ziggys and were really well looked after. The guests all seemed happy with the service, and the atmosphere among them was very friendly. The facilities were brand new and comfortable. It’s a perfect base for exploring different hikes and activities: you can set out on trails right from the hotel, head quickly up to Teide National Park, or go over to Rural Teno. We were glad we didn’t need a hire car, while other guests were getting around easily by bus. We were lucky to stay here and would definitely return. The photos are of the hikes!

We had a perfect stay and would go back again. The hosts, Simon and Sam, gave us a warm, friendly welcome and were lovely. The rooms are newly decorated, spotless, and have thoughtful touches that make things comfortable. There was everything we needed in the room, including tea, coffee, plenty of fresh towels, and extra pillows. Breakfast was great too. An excellent B&B in beautiful Vilaflor.
