The staff made a real effort, especially the men at reception. David gave us lots of useful information, and in the evenings the staff did what they could to meet our needs. Breakfast was fantastic, with plenty of choice, including options for gluten-free guests. There was a recurring shortage of clean bowls and spoons, though, and too few staff were covering several jobs. A coffee and tea machine would have helped. We chose it as a place outside Barcelona, but getting around is difficult without a car. The hotel is quite isolated, the buses are unreliable, and there's very little choice nearby for eating. The marina and town are a bus ride away and aren't picturesque. Up in town there are a few more options, but they are often closed, and getting there means a lot of uphill walking, so you need to be physically fit. The rooms are spacious, and the bedding and towels were changed daily, but ours was very dusty and needed a deep clean. We also had ants. Staff dealt with them quickly, but they kept returning. The pool area's views are lovely on most sides, though one side needs tidying up. The pool itself needs a full refurbishment: there were lots of ants, and the sunbeds were old, dirty, and uncomfortable. The furnishings had seen better days too. It's a nice hotel overall, but I'm not sure it deserves a 4-star rating, and you'll need a car to get about.

The only thing that kept this from being five stars was my clogged shower. Otherwise, my stay was PERFECT!!!! The bed was so easy to sleep in, even though I usually struggle when I'm away from my own bed, and the sheets felt buttery soft. The room was spacious, the shower was huge, and the towels were massive and soft. I loved the little balcony too. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. It's five minutes from the bus stop for Barcelona, and about a 30-40 minute walk to the beach at Premià de mar. The staff were so friendly, and one young man even handed me a bus schedule. The lobby smells soooo nice, and you should try having breakfast in bed. It felt sooooo elegant! I'm going to miss this hotel so much. If you're hungry, I'd recommend pizza a punt, or dry well for drinks. The food options are walkable, or you can take the bus.

We've been back almost every year since the hotel opened, and have always felt welcome. The rooms have been clean, and the location works well, though you'll need a car. The street is quiet with no traffic. We usually stay on the street side and haven't had major noise problems, even though the walls aren't very thick. I imagine the pool side could get noisier in summer, depending on the other guests. The place is starting to show its age, but it's still a very reasonable option in the area.

The room never got above 22 °C, which the staff confirmed was the limit set by management. If you come in cold and need to warm up, you won't be able to do it in your room. The room lights also make a crackling noise: after the straight LED strip over the bed has been on for about an hour, the thin metal cover gets hot and crackles for around 20 minutes as it contracts. Light sleepers will really dislike this place. Breakfast was sad too. There were three tiny industrial pastries, two small thin slices of untoasted bread, watered-down orange juice, and industrial yogurt in its commercial container. The smallest buffet ever at the lounge bar had a little fruit, dried meats, and more industrial juice. If you want a typical hotel breakfast with eggs, bacon, or anything actually cooked, you have to go somewhere else. The food was cold, just like the rooms. You have to use their Wi-Fi because there's no connection in the hotel, and you need internet to open your room. The cleaning ladies were respectful and cheerful, and the night guard was good too. At 2 am, he woke his boss because we were freezing. He was cold himself and initially thought something was wrong. The manager still never got my room above 22 °C, which is why I'm giving it one star.
