Apartamentos Rurales El Privilegio

The apartment was hard to keep warm at night. It has radiators in every room, but they were switched off overnight, so we woke up to a cold house in winter, in a snowy, cold area. The poor insulation meant we could hear the guests upstairs, too. The location itself is lovely if you want to rest and get away from everything, but I wasn't happy with the cleanliness. I'm vegan, and the mini-fridge smelled of fish so badly I couldn't put anything in it. It's also too small for a stay longer than a day. There are no shops nearby, and even the food we brought for our one full day wouldn't fit. The oven seemed to be falling apart, and the toaster smelled strongly of rust.

The climb up the hill into the valley felt daunting at first, but we soon got used to it and the effort was worth it. The altitude, mountain scenery, and spectacular views make the setting feel truly privileged, just as Valle El Privilegio is named. We went the weekend before the May bank holiday, with our 11- and 14-year-old children, and all four of us loved it. Everything was welcoming, clean, and beautifully done. Isabel was so kind, and even gave us chocolates when we arrived. The children had fun in the little park, wandering around, enjoying the fountains, and meeting the friendly, polite locals. My husband and I would go back a hundred times.

Villa De Sub and the surrounding countryside are lovely, especially if you want quiet and unspoiled nature. We stayed four nights in the "El Parque" apartment and had a fantastic time. It was clean, cozy, and warm, with everything we needed and care taken over every detail. Isabel and Fermín were incredibly welcoming and friendly.

We were two families in the Mirador apartment, and its spacious, fully equipped kitchen worked perfectly for six. The place was clean and comfortable, with every detail thought through, and a great spot to unwind. There are lovely views and lots of hiking trails nearby. Isabel, the owner, was kind and attentive, and we received chocolates as a welcome gift. We'll definitely come back when we're in the area.
