La Charola

The portions were generous, and the price felt very fair for these days. My wife and I had lunch, and Mr. Ángel was incredibly kind and helpful. The cheesecake I ordered was the most delicious and elegant I've ever had. We started with spectacular tripe and stewed squid with fries, then had delicious beef steak. And those braised pork cheeks were so good the plate belonged in a cupboard! We left delighted and definitely need to go back. Highly recommended.

A really pleasant place, with excellent service and exceptionally tasty food.

We left feeling really disappointed. My mother had fond memories of La Charola, which is why we stopped there, but this visit was the opposite. The service was adequate, but they charged us €18 each for a weekday set menu: noodle soup, fried eggs with potatoes, steak with potatoes, plus water, bread, dessert, and coffee. The menu was recited to us, and none of it was particularly special. We got the impression we were charged extra because of how we looked or because we said we were from out of town. Shameful treatment of customers. We won't return or recommend it.

The portions were so big that nobody will leave hungry. We first came to La Charola a few years ago and had heard good things, so we returned. The food was amazing, and the customer service was spectacular, attentive and empathetic. Everything was fantastic. It feels like the owner cares more about diners being happy and satisfied than about profit. We highly recommend it. If you're in the area, go, you won't regret it.
