We booked a one-bedroom apartment at Atrium Beach Apartments and were upgraded to a three-bedroom one, so we got lucky. The building is mostly privately occupied and very quiet, although the wind can be noisy on the higher floors. The beach view is completely blocked by a hotel that's been under construction, but tied up in a legal dispute, and has sat dormant since 2003. The apartments are serviced through the Tropical Splash hotel, about a 15-minute walk away. Reception, meals, the pool, and all the other facilities are at Splash. Check-in and checkout are there too, so arrange for your transfer to drop you at that hotel. Maid service came daily, and the minibar was restocked each day, free with the ultra-inclusive package. The location is handy for the beach, shops, and pharmacy. I'd recommend ultra-inclusive, which includes food and drinks, excursions, shuttle transfers, and access to other Magic hotels. Read the Splash reviews before booking these apartments and decide for yourself.

It's a huge complex, and the directions made the apartment really hard to find. Parking, on the other hand, was easy and very good. The apartment was large, bright, and airy, with a nice corner terrace, but poorly equipped. There was no kettle and only one tiny, dirty saucepan, hardly enough for making tea or coffee. My biggest concern was the bath. I fell getting in, partly because the fixed shower screen left me with nothing to hold onto for balance. My backside was very sore.

The pool area is alright, but there's no lifeguard, so it seems like almost everything is banned. You're probably better off using the pool at Hotel Monika across the way. Most people in the apartments are Spanish residents, and some don't seem to like tourists. Taxi drivers also don't seem to know where the place is, so if you get dropped at Monika, you'll be walking back.

There was nobody available to contact if something went wrong. We were also dropped off around the corner, about a 20-minute walk from where we were staying. That wasn't good with children when it was pitch black.

I’m booked for May 2023 and have been told to collect the keys from either Villa de Mar or Tropical Splash Hotel. Does anyone know which one it is? Also, can the deposit be paid in cash, or does it have to be by card?
