The room was lovely, with a great view across the rooftops, and I slept well in the comfortable bed. The thick towels and supplied toiletries were a nice touch, and I enjoyed unwinding on the rocking horses. The hotel spans three floors, with stairs and lifts, including one from the underground car park, which was very useful, though parking costs extra. For my birthday, dinner was served in the bar because the restaurant was closed, so the setting wasn't quite what I'd hoped for. The food and service were excellent, though. Breakfast was buffet style, with bacon and eggs cooked to order. The scrambled eggs were especially good.

Our room was excellent, and we had a superb dinner with good options on the menu. Breakfast was a lovely start to the day, and the wine list, familiar from other Paradores we'd stayed at, suited us well. This was the third night of our road trip, and we were lucky to find space in the underground garage, which our car really needed. It's a shame you can't reserve a spot ahead of time, even for an upfront payment. We love staying at Paradores, and Vilalba was among our favorites.

The hotel was clean and very spacious, and the reception staff were friendly and helpful. I liked having a PC in the lobby. In the room, though, there was no pen or paper on the desk, no USB socket, no microwave despite a space for one above the fridge, and no restaurant menu or information. The TV had Spanish channels only. The bathroom has a shower over the bathtub rather than a walk-in shower, which could be dangerous for older people, and the water pressure was too low. The wooden floors creaked a lot, and the thin walls let every noise through. I also couldn't find an escape plan in the room, which concerned me with all that wood.

A lovely, comfortable stay to begin our Camino. The restaurant food was delicious, and the staff were really helpful. They even put together a luxury picnic for us.
