Casa Rural La Calceta

The ethnographic museum has a great, varied collection. I’ve only visited that one, though, and it could really use more space.

It was so quiet that we all slept peacefully, and the place was really clean and cozy. There were seven of us cousins visiting for a First Communion celebration. Dori, the owner, put in an extra bed for us and kept the heating on all night since the weather wasn’t great. She was attentive to everything. We’ll definitely come back. Thanks for making us feel so welcome.

Dori made our stay so comfortable, and all the little details she left for us were much appreciated. Two families stayed at the house and had a wonderful time, though we only had the weekend to enjoy it. The patio and barbecue looked promising. Thanks, Dori. The best part of La Calceta is its owner, Dori. She’s one of the most incredible and courageous women I’ve ever met, and her story is worth discovering through the two museums she created. I think everyone, young and old, should visit them, whether to understand better the life we come from or remember the one we’ve already lived. The house is wonderful too, peaceful and welcoming. There’s a well that I couldn’t resist cranking whenever I passed, and a charming seagull’s nest on the covered terrace where we had breakfast.
