I spent one night in my campervan at this beautiful, peaceful place among rolling hills and olive groves stretching as far as you can see. I arrived just in time for a beer on the roof terrace and a stunning sunset, then enjoyed the dark skies for stargazing. In the morning, Tatienne and Joost made a delicious breakfast. Highly recommended.

The setting is stunning, the pool is perfect, and Tatienne and Joost are lovely hosts. We stayed in the two-room 'casita', which was very comfortable and fully equipped. I didn't see the other rooms, but imagine they're lovely too. Their homemade food is a treat, from breakfast to the four-course dinner on certain nights. I have nothing negative to say. One of my favourite holiday stays ever. Go and stay there!

April 2025 brought our family of five to Valle de Oro for three nights, and it turned out to be the highlight of our holiday in Spain. We stayed in the two yurts and found them wonderfully relaxing, even on rainy nights. The beds were so comfortable and the atmosphere so tranquil that getting up in the morning was a struggle! The property really does look like the pictures, and Tatienne and Joost were warm, generous, gracious hosts. They made our three rowdy American boys feel welcome and adored, endless energy and all. No detail seems to have been missed. The bathroom fixtures are charming and luxurious, the food was incredibly fresh and delicious, from the chickens and trees on the property, and the hosts were knowledgeable and helpful about local attractions and restaurants. We'd go back in an instant. If you can, try the four-course dinner menu, it's a special experience.

The yurt has become one of my favorite places in Spain. This was my second visit, after my boyfriend and I first came to the valley about three years ago for his 30th birthday, and returned this year for mine. Tatienne and Joost are fabulous cooks, great conversationalists, and wonderful company. They've created a truly magical little spot in the valleys of Malaga, and thought of everything. The yurts are spacious, clean, and very big, with modern amenities like electricity, a super soft comfy bed, and a mini fridge. There are big fluffy bathrobes for the walk to the bathroom and shower house, which has flushing toilets and nice hot water. In summer you can use the amazing swimming pool, the big terraza for watching the sunset between the mountains, and the mini zen pool for relaxing. Outside the yurt there's a hammock, chair, and tables in the shade of the olive trees. Or you can nap in the cozy bed and look at the sky through the skylight. The whole property is gorgeous. At night, you can drink wine under the stars and see every bit of the Milky Way. On this trip, with the new moon and no light pollution, we saw Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and so many constellations. Breakfast each morning was incredibly yummy, with fresh eggs from the chickens and fruit from the huerta. We loved having their polite, sweet, silly furry friends around too: the cats Zeppo, Zanza, and Mimi, Ron the dog, and of course the chickens. This visit was especially exciting because after Tatienne and Joost made us one of their delicious dinners, my boyfriend proposed outside the yurt beneath the stars, after six and a half years together. This valley is a very special place for us now. Thanks so much for having us again, Tatienne and Joost. We're already looking forward to coming back soon and many more times after that.

During our 700 kilometer hike around Andalusia, we stayed at Casa Valle de Oro in one of the yurts and had dinner there twice. Joost and Tatienne were warm, welcoming hosts who took a real interest in us. Etienne and Joost cooked both dinner and breakfast to perfection, and the food was amazing. You should definitely eat there if you stay. They also helped arrange transport for parts of our hiking routes and even drove us themselves. We give them our best recommendations. If you're going to Andalusia, make sure to stay at Casa Valle de Oro. Best wishes from Lisbeth and Ulla in Denmark.
