La Morera de Agustina

We had to spend most of the weekend cleaning before we could feel comfortable sleeping there, and left the house cleaner than we found it. It’s a shame, because the house has so much potential, but it’s in serious disrepair and the cleanliness was appalling. We stayed March 28th to 30th. There were personal belongings scattered around, as if someone lived there and only left for the weekend it was rented. The kitchen was in a terrible state: grease all over the ceramic hob, spilled milk in the microwave, a filthy toaster, too many things that had been used by other guests, and a refrigerator door so stiff we could barely open it. The windows were so cloudy from poor cleaning they looked like London. The sheets had bloodstains, and there was months-old dust and cobwebs that looked like Halloween decorations, to add a little humor. Old items were stored everywhere with no order, taste, or cleanliness. In the downstairs bathroom, the bathtub sealant needs replacing because it’s moldy, and the smell was unbearable. Maybe the people after us had better luck. The rural guesthouse really needs to be managed more carefully. It’s shameful.

Agustina made us reserve the house with a deposit, but when our group was already on the way from other cities for an event with more than 10 friends, she stopped answering her phone. When we finally got through, she said the house was already booked, then acted confused and asked if we were our friends. She didn’t keep her word, offered no solution, and we had to get extremely angry before she returned our money. This was completely unprofessional and left us very disappointed. We never thought we’d end up in this situation. Don’t book with her if you don’t want the same thing to happen. She showed no commitment, didn’t honor her word, and has no credibility.

Agustina was a lovely, attentive host who was always ready to help and made everything easy. We were nine of us, six adults and three children, and had a wonderful weekend. The house was cozy and well equipped, and it was very well adapted for disabled guests. The area for young people and children was also well equipped. We didn’t get to use the patio much, but it had plenty of equipment too. Thank you so much. We highly recommend the place and will definitely come back as soon as we can.

Agustina’s house was a great place to spend a few days. It was spacious, with a lovely garden and barbecue, and very peaceful. Even with the cold, the heating and fireplace made it wonderfully cozy. There are lots of interesting places nearby to visit, including Lerma, Covarrubias, La Yecla, Santo Domingo de Silos, and others. Thanks so much, Agustina!
