The setting and the way José looked after us made this a good stay. We loved the sunrise and sunset views, and the pool, though simple, was perfectly usable and José cleaned it every few days. The rooms and bathrooms are basic but comfortable enough, and the house had the essentials plus plenty of laundry detergent and dishwasher tablets. We did have water trouble, which made sense given the drought, but José dealt with it quickly. He even paid us back for the extra fans we bought to cope with the heat. The villa is in an olive grove, with steep hills on both sides, so a sensible car is a good idea. It has rustic charm from the outside, but the house needs work: the electrics need substantial attention, several repairs are makeshift, and air conditioning would be close to essential in summer. More kitchen gear, including decent knives and a couple of extra pots, would help, as would replacing the tablecloths. We stayed August 7-21, 2023. We weren't expecting five-star luxury, and we had a laugh about some of the rough edges. The place did what we needed, and with José being so attentive, four stars feels fair. Thanks, José, we appreciated the care.
The views are lovely, and there’s plenty of room in the house for a family or a group of friends to spend time together. We had a great time there. The owners took good care of us and checked that we had what we needed. The kitchen was set up with the essentials for cooking our own meals, and the heating in the room worked very well using the fireplace's warmth.
The kids had a great time when the owner showed us the sheep, and we’re already hoping to come back and enjoy the fireplace. This is our second visit, and it’s a lovely place to unwind. The kitchen has plenty of equipment, and the village is about 3 km away. The water pressure was weak on our first day, but they fixed it quickly.
We were disgusted by the condition of the place and felt completely ripped off. It looked nothing like the photos. The pool loungers were filthy, the shade awnings were wrecked, and the poolside shower was only a pole held up with ropes that were barely usable. There was even a broken, abandoned office chair by the entrance. Overnight, the wind bent one of the barbecue area's walls, and it nearly collapsed. The baby crib was falling apart and missing a side. When we said the baby couldn't sleep in it, someone came straight away and fastened the side with cable ties. There were ties poking through the fabric and rope holding the bars together. I had to scrub the crib because it was black with what looked like long-standing dirt. Having to sleep there with my children was awful. We couldn't shower all weekend because hardly any water came from the taps. Inside, the house seemed almost abandoned. There were light fixtures with no switches, loose cables everywhere, filthy walls, and chair upholstery and cushions so dirty they looked like they'd come from a landfill. The wires seemed dangerous for adults and especially for children. I'll stop there, but this was truly awful. Please don't take your family or friends there. I'll attach photos so people can see.
Please don't stay here unless you want a few days in the worst rural house you've ever visited. We brought five children and worried they could get electrocuted or have something fall on them. Honestly, the property isn't fit to host guests. The advertised photos bear no resemblance to what we found. Everything was wrecked, dirty, badly maintained, and tasteless. The kitchen had no glasses, and the oven was greasier than a motorcycle chain. There were lamps held together with electrical tape and exposed wires all over. Chairs were broken and filthy; the toilet wasn't sealed down, and I nearly fell when I sat on it. The shower had almost no water pressure. There were loose bricks making up a table top, torn fabric over the shaded areas, sunken grass, and lounger cushions that looked as if they had never been washed. Some bedrooms had no blinds, while others had ripped shades. A horrible, disastrous experience, a complete rip-off.
