Vila-Real Palace Hotel

We stopped for one night on the way to Portugal. The service was really pleasant, and the room was clean. The design feels old and hasn’t been refreshed in a long time, but the secure underground parking is a big advantage.

It’s in a logistics area, so the hotel seems geared more toward business guests. Still, we had a comfortable night. The room was clean, with a good view over the whole logistics area, and the included buffet breakfast had plenty of choices. Staff were friendly, helpful, and spoke good English. There’s also free parking along the road beside the hotel.

The location was very convenient for my wife and me when we were traveling from Barcelona to Valencia, and the price was very nice. We chose it because it was a four-star hotel at that price, but I think four stars is too much for this place. The room had an unpleasant smell, and the furniture is old and really should be updated.

The staff were okay, but I think they charge too much for what the hotel offers. The rooms need a lot of improvement, especially the beds and furniture. In my case, the hot water didn’t work, so I had to change rooms, and there was also a leak in the bathroom.
