Sorry, but the place just feels scruffy.

The noise was the main drawback for me. Music from the restaurant can carry during the day, and a few pitches sometimes have a livelier feel, which gets in the way a bit if you're hoping to switch off and hear nature. The recent river flooding has also limited access to some pools that used to be especially secluded and charming, though the area around them is still pleasant. Camping Río Segura itself is charming and well placed near the river. The facilities are clean and looked after, the bathroom is roomy and comfortable, and the price feels fair. I had a positive stay overall, and improving the noise situation would make it better. I'd still recommend it. Three out of five from me.

The bathrooms were spotless, and the work to freshen the place up is easy to see. The restaurant now stays open until 11:00, and there are eight things that used to close very early. Our waitress was friendly too. We'd been here two years ago, when it was really run down, so this overnight stop came as a nice surprise. Mamen, a young woman who's keen to give the campsite another chance, is running it now. It's spacious and lovely, with lots of shade, big pitches, and the river right alongside. We were pleasantly surprised and will definitely return. There are things I didn't say before.

The new owners are still renovating, but the bar's already a great spot. The food is very good and reasonably priced. Pitches are roomy with plenty of shade from the trees, and the restrooms are clean with hot water. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. We'll be back soon.
