The reception service was very friendly, and the location is great. Our room was small but had a great view. Something in there made a loud buzzing sound, though, and it wasn’t the AC. We could also hear noise from other rooms, the corridor, and the kitchen or restaurant upstairs. The restaurant didn’t win us over. It wasn’t cozy, and the waitress seemed overloaded, doing her job without much feeling and rather half-heartedly. The breakfast waiter was kind, but breakfast had very little choice and the quality was very low.

The room was comfortable, everything worked, and the hotel felt clean and freshly painted. It isn’t quaint or historic, but it’s a pleasant place to stay. The staff were helpful and polite, and breakfast was simple but good. The restaurant was more than decent for the price. We visited over a holiday weekend, so parking was difficult. There’s parking above the hotel and in town, but the hotel has no dedicated spaces. It sits at the top of town, with amazing views of the countryside and reservoir. The room was what I’d expect for this category. For us, cleanliness, value, and service are the essentials, and the rest comes down to personal preference. We were very happy with our stay.

The rooms were clean, and the beds and pillows were really comfortable. I did miss having tea and coffee facilities in the room. Breakfast was included and fine, though we had to use a rather unimpressive capsule machine for coffee despite being right next to the bar, where they serve proper coffee. At 9€ per person, that felt a bit cheap. The location in Zahara de la Sierra is wonderful, and every room has stunning views over the lake. The staff were lovely, and I can definitely recommend staying here. Those breakfast and coffee issues are why I’ve given it 4*.
