We had a lovely memory of this stay. Maddalena welcomed us warmly, explained the studio and small garden, and shared restaurant tips. Her French was very good, and she was caring while giving us plenty of privacy. The studio felt new and was fully furnished, though it has been there for years. The traditional style of the house was pleasant, and it was very peaceful. Arcelor Mittal sits behind a green wall, an odd contrast with the idyllic setting, but we didn't notice any nuisance from it. The kitchen had a fridge, freezer, stovetop, and everything else we needed. Good bedding, a very clean shower, good WiFi, and we used the washing machine once. Parking is beside the house, and there's a lovely vegetable garden plus a private spot to read or have a drink. A car is necessary here. The location works well for a week and for driving out to nearby villages, oak, beech, and ash forests, the Bidasoa river, a nature park, the coast, San Sebastian, the French border, Espelette, and caves where so-called witches once gathered. Venta de Etxalar is a beautiful hotel with a good restaurant that looks pricier than it is. There are other ventas and places to eat nearby too. Recommended.

Maddalen's hospitality made the weekend especially lovely. She was so friendly and welcoming, and we're grateful for how at home she made us feel. We stayed in the apartment for four, which was spotless and had everything we needed. The setting is idyllic, and the whole weekend felt like much more than just a trip. Thank you, Maddalen! 🥰

Maddalen is a lovely host, and the beautiful surroundings make this such a peaceful place to stay. There are plenty of nearby villages with the special charm of the Bidasoa region. I've been here for a holiday twice now and would happily come back again.

We came with a friend and were so comfortable that leaving was hard. Maddalen, the owner, has thoughtful touches all around the house, and she's really friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The apartment was exactly as shown in the photos and impeccably clean, with all the kitchenware and utensils we needed. It's a beautiful place to step away from routine, rest, and recharge. Right beside the greenway, it's easy to enjoy walks in nature and interesting excursions.
