AC Hotel Zamora by Marriott

The bathroom felt unsafe, with a very high tub, no grab bars, and a slippery surface. The rooms were clean and reasonably spacious, but only okay otherwise. The TV selection was limited, with no English-language channels, not even BBC or CNN. We booked at the last minute through the Marriott app. The whole area is being dug up, and finding the entrance was difficult, especially after dark. When I called, Javier was rude and snarky, laughed at us for being lost, and wouldn't help. The neighborhood also felt sketchy, and there weren't decent places to eat nearby.

Roadworks right outside made the hotel hard to find, since Google Maps hadn't been updated. After we found a parking spot that apparently belonged to another nearby hotel, getting into the garage was easy. Parking costs €12 per night. The room had a comfortable bed, nice lighting, a smart TV, a bar fridge, and basic coffee-making facilities. There are lots of cafes and attractions nearby, and the surroundings feel luxurious. I like the standard Marriott hotels offer. As in many hotels in Spain, there was no air conditioning, so the room could get a bit hot at night.

Cosete at the front desk was so helpful, with good suggestions for restaurants and side trips. She knew the area well and was keen to help. The rooms were clean, the staff helpful, and the location very good. I'd definitely stay here again if I return to Zamora.

We were upgraded to a large Junior Suite because we needed accessible accommodation, and it was really nice. The AC hotels' consistent standards are reassuring, since you know what to expect. The location worked well for us, with the places we needed and the old historic part of town within walking distance. Breakfast was good, and they had a nice range of gluten-free items when requested.
