Hotel & Spa Real Ciudad de Zaragoza

We arrived on Sunday and stayed through Monday morning, and it was very quiet during that time. The hotel was spotless, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We found it a convenient overnight stop on the way to southern Spain, and would stay again. There’s free, spacious underground parking that felt secure and was clean and well lit, with a lift from the garage to every floor, which made handling our overnight bags easy. It’s in a busy commercial district with lots of trucks around, so stay aware whether you’re walking or driving. Good value for a comfortable hotel, and I’d recommend it.

The industrial neighborhood isn’t the nicest, though that’s not the hotel’s fault. Inside, the renovated lobby looks excellent, and I thought the spa was amazing. The room was a little small but worked for us. Breakfast was very good, and the staff were polite, friendly and genuinely helpful. Free, secure underground parking was a big plus for me. We had a delightful stay.

The dinner menu only offered two options each for starters, mains and desserts, which seemed poor for a 4-star hotel. My daughter and I were driving from Spain to the UK, and I booked mainly because of the location and timing. We checked the breakfast hour with reception when we arrived, but when we went down, we were told it wouldn’t be served for another hour. With our tight schedule, we had to leave hungry. If I’d known that when booking, I wouldn’t have chosen this hotel. The walls are so thin you can hear everything, and our room right beside the lift made for a rather interesting night’s sleep. They’re not kidding about it being on an industrial estate. My family and I travel a lot, and we’ve never had such a poor experience at a 4-star hotel.

The restaurant and bar staff were friendly and very helpful. It was good value, though I couldn’t get the air conditioning temperature to adjust, so the room felt a bit warm during the August heatwave.
