After a long hike in the heat, I was looking forward to a shower, but check-in took 40 minutes. Reception was unattended, and the check-in machine outside wasn't working. I'd messaged the hotel through Booking.com and got no reply. Later I was told they'd tried to call me, instead of just writing back. I don't have international phone service, which is very common. The long wait was frustrating, and the response I got felt defensive rather than apologetic.

Very basic, clean rooms. There was no parking or breakfast, so it's fine if you want the minimum. The reception staff were very helpful.

It's a first-floor-only hotel close to the heart of Zarautz, with great places to eat and cafes just around the corner.

The beds were really good and firm, and the rooms were nice. It'd be handy to have a few kitchen items, like a knife, in the shared room.

My cousin is staying here, and it's new to me. Nice room, and they welcomed us well at reception. What's not to like!!!❤️
