Casa Rural La Ibienza

There’s a bar right next to the house, and the owner handled everything really well. They were flexible about timings, and we had everything we needed. The house is clean and well equipped, with a fireplace, barbecue, open-plan kitchen, games, four double bedrooms and two bathrooms. Five of us friends spent an autumn weekend there, cold and rainy outside, just wanting warm food, a fire and a good laugh. We played cards and dice, shared a few fermented drinks, and had plenty of joking and good conversation. Even “feilla” turned into a compliment, and we got very generous with the “-illo” suffix. Beds and sofa were both comfortable, with lots of blankets for anyone who gets cold. We also caught the Aguilafuente festival, 7km away, and stayed out late, with the time change helping. A lovely spot to switch off. It’s left a mark on us, and I’d recommend it.
