The owners have made a lovely place from hardwood and stone, and the couple keep it extremely clean and well run. There are some very cool dogs, too. It’s surrounded by nature, with fresh air and walks or cycling nearby. If you’re after genuine quiet and a bit of peace of mind, this is the spot.

After a hike, being handed cold water was just what we needed. We later sat on the terrace with a good white wine and a beautiful view, then had a tasty, honest local dinner and slept really well. Breakfast was lovely, and they packed us omelet sandwiches for the trail. This place must be heaven in Spain.

We spent three days in Tony and Birgi's wonderful home, with their dogs, chickens, donkey, and mare for company. Both hosts were attentive and helpful throughout, and Tony greeted us warmly and talked us through the property and its activities. We’d definitely recommend it.

We had unforgettable days at Haitzetxea. Toni and Virginia made us feel at home right away, and you can see how much care they put into every detail. The breakfasts and dinners were delicious, and our conversations came with plenty of laughs. Thanks so much for everything. We’ll be back, though next time we’re hoping for weather a bit stronger than a light drizzle so we can enjoy the lovely house comfortably! 😉 See you soon!
